Neal Wathsun

Monarchy One (Neal Wathsun) - Musician, director, writer...

Hello, my name is Neal and I've been making music and writing for almost three years now. I specialize in action, drama, adventure, sci-fi, and suspenseful projects. My independent music is a type of electronica and classical instruments.

Current Projects:
---
Active Assaults: The Beginning Soundtrack

Here, I have completed some in-game music and the Main Menu theme. The overall feeling of the soundtrack is ambient space with some techno/industrial beats and guitar/synth riffs. Plenty of echoing instruments.
---
Project NeonBlank Soundtrack

The feeling I went for in this game was influenced strongly on the Metal Gear Solid soundtracks. It's dark and suspenseful with distortion sneaking up here and there. The game is a stealth game so I made te songs playing while you're sneaking around nice and quiet (darkly quiet!).
---
And I'm also working on some projects for my father (not game related).

My Influences: (MUSIC)
Dismantled
Graeme Norgate
David Bergeaud
Frank Klepacki

Systems I Own:
I'm so slow I go backwards!

Uber

pronounced ew bur

1. The German word for "above".

2. The word uber comes from the German language. During the late 1990's, uber became a hip, trendy synonym for super; i.e. ubercool - supercool.

3.The ultimate, above all, the best, top, something that nothing is better than.

4. Used in 1337 speak or netspeak meaning best, very, ultimate

Career Summary

I started my writing work writing small 'fanfics' on various video games, movies TV shows etc... Then I began to write small scripts for movies and small series I always got conepts for. I did develop some techniques from those experiences. I just need a concept and I think I'll manage.

As for my music career, I started doing projects for my father and his production company (Agency 225/Point of Sale TV). Then I went on to a project called 'Active Assaults' in which I used plenty of techniques I've learned working for my father, along with many inspirations. I mainly do Electronica/Techno Sci-fi-like music, but I'm beginning to do some small orchestral experiments mainly for fantasy/adventure or action/shooter games and such.

Directing came from me being a major flick freak. I became interested in directors like Stephen Spielberg, Ridley Scott, and Michael Bay. I use some of their techniques used in their films. That's used mainly for action-based games. As for comedy, I look up to the 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' series. I probably won't do much comedy in my career, though.

I am currently working on two projects, "Project NeonBlank" and "Active Assaults: The Beginning" as a music director in each.

Soom I am considering taking up studying the Dark BASIC coding language.
