My Recent Work.
My recent work.

Now here's the thing. I know I haven't been on GGE lately, and there is good reason for it. I've been uber busy. I will check back occasionally on this site, possibly update the "Recent Work" section, but right now, Ascension and reality has sucked all my time and resources up.
I still love you, GGE.
I will try to update this as often as I can.

And they say I don't do anything. Pfft.
This is all a part of Ascension!

More About Me

An excerpt from my Ascension Bio:
I live in good ol' Maine and am currently in my senior year of high school, trying to tough it out. I am looking into colleges currently, but I have been set on Rochester Institute of Technology for as long as I can remember. I believe I want to major in digital art, and minor in philosophy or something dealing with audio. Though I have not been at it long, I have recently gotten into remixing and find it fun.
I joined RenWerX soon after Tribes Vengeance was released. My clan leader, Cybergyn (long live STD), referred me after I had made a few skins for Vengeance. Since then, I believe, I have grown in leaps and bounds skin-wise. I have also offered my hand at mapping, as I used to make maps for Unreal Tournament 2004. I will admit, working with Torque is nothing like working with Unreal, but in the long run, a lot more fun. I also try my hand at the 2D portion of the game, and have compiled a voice pack or two for our game.
Besides working with RenWerX, I enjoy paintball, biking, occasionally skateboarding, basketball, or just hitting it up with friends. Music plays a very big part of my life, and I generally listen to everything.
My favorite version of Tribes would have to be Tribes 2 Classic, and I would have to call myself a shocklance-junkie. Besides this, I use the spinfusor religiously. In T2 you would find me in light armor with a lance most of the time, but in T:V I have made it a habit to use the medium armor with the rocket pod or blaster. I always keep a spinfusor and chaingun handy, however.
Even More About Me

Daft Punk and Star Wars
Alright, I'll confess. I keep a red plastic lightsaber in my trunk, as well as a burger king crown. Now and then I will have my friends put their backpacks into my trunk when my car is full of them. They will see the lightsaber, and give me weird looks. That's when I get it out and whack them with it. I really get into it too.
And then we all laugh. And then we get into my car (a 96 Hyundai Accent) and blast Daft Punk, which is my favorite music artist, among many others. So I felt as if these two pictures were appropriate.
So, what else about me?

Ascension Tech Video
Ascension Tech Video
This is the old Tech video for Ascension, a game in the works by RenWerX Studios. I know it is quite old, and honestly somewhat embarassing since it was "pushed out the door". But nevertheless, there was no other way to see it online so I figured I'd post it up here. It gives you a small taste of what's to come for Ascension. Enjoy!
Soldat
Soldat
A video of one of my favorite games, Soldat. Found this on youtube, I had nothing to do with this video, but I think it does a good job of showing how Soldat is basically 2D Tribes (besides the armors and deployables of course).
Definitally a Type B games, possibly with less of a player count than Tribes does. Alas, all of my favorite games have low player counts, why?! Haha. All well, as long as your playing with friends, all is good. All of my favorite games are free as well, so it makes up for it.
Anywho, yes, if you liked Starsiege: Tribes, you will love Soldat. Once you get past the learning curve of playing in 2D. Give it a try.
Tribes Vengeance Ball Ownage
Tribes Vengeance Ball Ownage
I'm a developer, but of course I was and still am a gamer. My claim to fame was figuring out T:V's "Ball" gametype.
Basically, it boils down to this. The ball's direction of movement was based on:
1/2 your current (player) velocity and direction
1/4 the direction you are looking in
1/4 how hard you throw it
A mistake many people make is throwing the ball while they are falling downwards. Even with your throw gauge filled to the top, that ball is still going to head downwards.
What I find funny is that many people claimed T:V was a "n00bs game" and meanwhile didn't play ball because it was a "broken gametype". Here's food for thought: the challenge for the veterans was the ball gametype. The ball might have fallen through the map occasionally, but the physics of the ball actually make the game fun if you get the hang of it. That's personal opinion right there.
I still pride myself in being one of the best ball players, though I don't play T:V anymore.
Things to note in this video. First of all, I don't use the grappler at all anymore when I play, I found it to be cheap (it was fun though). Also, I was using a GeForce MX 440 making this video (it stank, basically). A week after I made this video, I got an ATI Radeon 9550, which would have made this video look 10x as good.
Also, sorry for the youtube resolution, it doesn't really show anything clearly. Hope you enjoy it though. If you want, you can load this up on youtube and see it on a slightly bigger screen.
This is one of many videos I have made, I still have fun watching them all.
Other Awesome Videos
Kitten Cannon, The Legendary Time Waster
These games I've played in the past and never got enough of.
Entered in late in the game, and force-fed myself it. Classic is my favorite flavor. I still play on EWO's Friday Night Fights. Look for me, SwissArmyRooster
I bought it originally to tie me over until Tribes Vengeance came out. I became addicted. I started to learn how to map. And I played the life out of Low-Grav Instagib CTF (with team boost enabled, and quad jump enabled). This was as close to an FPS+Z as you could get in this game.
Some people loved it, some people hated it. I personally was impartial to it. It had one of the best SP camapaigns I've ever played, and even though it was obviously rushed out the door, I seriously think there would be a gap in the series without it. I used the knowledge I learned from mapping in UT2k4 to make maps for T:V, and joined the Ren team.
A fun 2D game, basically a clash of Counterstrike and Tribes. Challenging yet fun!
Good game. I was a Kel Dorian Sith, named Darth Salvatore! Me and Calsa had a few run-ins on this game, it was fun.
Oldschool fun, that is all I have to say. The courses were amazing to look at.
Beat in Legendary mode. Was on the top of my game in Halo for PC for months on end. I was one crazy Warthog driver!
Made several level 99 characters, and became addicted to it. Cheaters suck. I lost all my stuff to them.
Addictive, like PSO was, but in a different way.
Beat in Legendary with a friend, with my fair share of memories and strained voices from yelling at each other. :P
I played the crap out of this online, mainly for roleplaying too. I was an old wizard in the Realm of Eternity server.
I like to call this game crack. Too bad it's old, and our computers blow it away.
Beat in Insane mode with my friend. Very fun, not as bad as either Halo or Halo 2 in Legendary though. Isn't the chainsaw melee satisfying?
Played it on the 360 at a friend's house, got hooked on it. Plan on me getting it for PC. It's just waaay too addictive.
This was fun in it's own little way. I was one sneaky bastid when it came to using the jet trooper. I used the commando pistol to snipe people out effortlessly, would jet from place to place to hide, and occasionally use the EMP blaster to take out destroyers.
