Shademonger

All-around, non-biased, pure gamer on all fronts. I recognize the ups and downs of all gaming platforms and genres, and if something is good, I will buy it and play it regardless of the system. Presently I am playing on XBox 360, PS2, and PC as my Wii was stolen only 2 months after I recieved it, and the PS3 is more money than the game library is worth at the moment. Aside from gaming, anime is my other big passion. I attend local conventions whenever I can, and watch shows like Naruto, Gantz, Speed Grapher, Cowboy Bebop, and anything else that piques my fancy.

Systems I Own:
Only the dead have seen the end of a war.
This is my list of top 10 favorite games. In the event I develop amnesia, I want you to mention these titles in the hopes they return my memory to normality.
I love RPGs, and I love strategy, this game combined them perfectly in the most humorous, creative, and replayable way possible. If you're an RPG junky, definately check this one out if you can find a copy of it. The sequal is easier to get your hands on, and knowledge of the original is not necessary to the plot of the second. I'm saving this gem for future generations.
This series started out on the Dreamcast and involved a young man in 1980s Japan trying to solve the mystery of his father's death and seeking revenge. A rather free-form fighter/RPG, this game was all about realism. Sporting the most stunning graphics of it's time and plenty of diversions such as collecting capsule toys and playing arcade games, Shenmue provided plenty of enjoyment and an epic story of revenge.
In my opinion, the cream of the Final Fantasy crop. Everything about this game is pure unadulterated awesome, from the dark and emotional plot line, to the "dancing mad" antagonist Kefka who would put modern day malefactors like Sephiroth and Sin to shame.
Another truly legendary RPG on the SNES by Squaresoft. With a spectacular soundtrack and an innovative combat system similar to Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger goes down in the books as one of the best RPGs around.
The blue bomber saw me through a hefty portion of my childhood, and Mega Man 2 is the one that really sticks out in my mind as the most memorable. I blame games like this for developing my reaction time and forcing me to get my timing precise on levels like Heat Man's that involved jumping on disappearing and reappearing platforms above a bottomless pit or river of lava.
When I first purchased my XBox, it was in order to see what all the buzz about "that Halo game" was all about. One nonstop run through the cooperative storyline with a friend of mine, and I quickly discovered that buzz was not unfounded. Halo showed us that an FPS didn't have to have a story that was as important to the entertainment as the plot in Porking Pizza Boys 2. The sequal introduced online multiplayer that is still one of the most played games on XBox Live with billions of matches played since it's release in 2004.
Pokemon took the concept of collecting 150 adorable, badass, and cool looking monsters and wrapped around it a solid and addictive RPG. I listed Diamond, since it is the one installment of the series that I would rather have with me if I were stranded on a desert island. With the advent of wi-fi trading and battling, this new generation of Pokemon makes it the greatest.
I love music games, rhythm games, and dancing games, but out of all of them, Guitar Hero stands out as my favorite. The guitar peripheral is well-designed and incredibly fun to use. With an incredibly diverse selection of songs between the first and second installments, this is a series that any music lover should try their hands at.
Of all the fighting games and party games in the world, Smash Bros. stands out as the top contender. Who hasn't ever wanted to watch Mario, Star Fox, Samus, and Donkey Kong duke it out in a no holds-barred battle royale where only one emerges victor? The gameplay is simple and easy to pick-up on, but with plenty of room for advanced players to develop complex strategies and combos.
Stunning visuals and intensely fun gameplay make Shadow of the Colossus an all around great game for the ages. While the story is a bit lackluster, the fact that the entire game revolves around bringing down 10 story goliaths with only a sword and your wits makes up for it.
