I love games.

The thing that interests me the most about games is their potential to one day be considered more then just games but a viable vehicle of expression. Lately I have been exposed to the world of Indie Games which gives me new hope that through experimentation with different concepts rather then the same old stuff, we can all realize the full potential of games. If your interest in Indie Games you should go check out Indie Games Section here on GGE.

I've been here on GGE for awhile and have found some pretty cool people. I can't wait to see GGE grow into the community I see it becoming.

Yeah, good to type to you again!

A while ago, I put what I had done with the story up on the forum for other people to pick up where I had left off, but no one did anything with it. School also picked up, so I haven't had time to work on the core of the game. I'll be doing my senior project over the summer, so something is definitely going to come from that.

Nice article, Poet! RL's are really underrated by most gamers -- and admittedly it does take a while to get used to them -- but I believe that Dwarf Fortress is one of the best freeware games ever made! Everything in that game is so random and hilarious. Its a new classic.

If anyone is interested I just updated the Indie Games Feature page. Next month I'll be doing a feature on the Independent Games Festival.

Wow. That was an unexpected turn of events! The GGE would be a lesser place without you Poet - aside from being a good friend, there would be no-one else who would be able to add games and content!

Life has a way of twisting around in ways we don't always foresee, so it's completely understanable if you need to focus your attention elsewhere. But I'm glad your back man, despite the whole ordeal ending before I was even aware of it!

Never mind my impulsive and rash decision to leave the site. I had some personal problems come up and thought that I wouldn't have the time to contribute any more. I apologize for anyone who was disheartened by this news. Rest assured I will be here for much longer to come.

Sorry. But I feel my time has come. I still hope that GGE will grow into the site I once believed it would but alas I cannot linger here any longer. Kudos and farewell my friends.

Cheers for the link dude. I've been meaning to add it to the GGE, aswell as Gemini Gold, Wing Commander Saga, Unkown Enemy and a tonne of other similarly themed games, but I still can't - which blows.

Hey!I've just read the conversation between you and Minefield. Count me as a participant in any group like you were discussing. I'll talk to LDB as well. He was staying quite active, but he's disappeared for a while.

That's a top idea poet. I know there are still quite a few lurkers here hoping that the GGE will rise up and, you know, actually start being the community-based gamesite that it was supposed to be.

I've heard Garage Games are making strides in their InstantAction thing, with a Tribes-esque action game on the horizon. I just hope that once they complete their other, seemingly more important project that they then will turn their stone-cold gaze back to the GGE and give it the attention that it so sorely needs :)

In the meantime groups like you proposed will have to do to keep the community together.

I'm gonna give it a look. I'm kind of 'bleh' towards muds lately. My patience to read has gone down the toilet.

And yeah, we should play defcon. I was wondering about that, and wondering what do I have to do to get you on my msn. =p ... These things are so buggy.

I don't use a gamepad, and even with the mouse it can get tricky in the middle of a fuzz. Overall I thought the game was good but I haven't finished the demo yet, maybe I will write a review.

Personally I really like the business model of Steam. Many of the things people gripe about steam like not having physical CD's or being able to loan/sell games to others I actually find either don't bother me or are actually advantages (no CD's to search for for one, I can never find anything in our house)

I recommend now that you have a source game that you grab Garrys Mod. Really good game that one is. GMod takes the source engine. Removes the game. Give you a full physics sandbox, and MASSIVE moding capability. Mods in GMod range from giving you new pieces to build things with, to new tools, to new maps, to whole new gamemodes. It really sucked up alot of my time and I have only really scratched the surface of what you can do with it.

I'll need yours also so my Miis can parade around your Wii. Hmmm, we should start a forum thread so we can share this kind of info.

Thank you. I haven't really been following SC2 for a while though. It's the type of game that, for me, would really consume a lot of my focus, and for the time being I'm blessed with a nice backlog of good stuff to catch up on :)

ATDI > 5(Mars Volta + Sparta)

A mathematical fact... in my opinion.

I never got to hear any ATDI tracks before I heard Sparta. I've been told to listen to them on more than one occasion :) Though I'm actually a bigger Mars Volta fan than the former to be honest - must add 'em to the list.
