Greetings all!
My name is Tex Standridge, no that's not my real name, but it's what I've been called since I was very young. Gaming is my biggest hobby, but I consider Level/Map Design to be my passion in the gaming world. I rodeo'd and broke horses for a living in my younger years, hence the nickname "Tex" which let me tell you... they don't just give to anyone in the field. I am a christian, and proud of it. My language may not show it, but my devotion to God, my wife, and my family are my top priorities in life above all other things.
I'm a recovering alcoholic and due to such have a rather dark spot in my past that unfortunately extended into my online life as well as disrupting things in the real world. That being behind me, I've pretty much dedicated my game time to helping new players and building/fixing the communities I participate in.
I despise "l33t sp34k" or as I call it, moron speak. My top priority as a gamer and a designer is to rid world of the idiotic terms so many gamers use that keep us all down in the eyes of the rest of the world by making us look stupid.
At age 16 I earned my Eagle Scout. At age 29 I was married to my amazing and beautiful wife Emily. She's trying hard to resist it but I'm slowly pulling her into the gaming world. Currently she is working on her PhD in English at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I suppose I forgot to mention she's intelligent too, barring the whole marrying me thing. ;-)
I've worked in Law Enforcement, Retail, and currently the computer industry.
My extracurricular activities include:
4x4 Off-roading
Firearms and shooting competitions
Fishing
Star Wars collecting
Golfing
Speaking of Star Wars it's only fair I should mention that it isn't just a hobby so much as an obsession. My collection is currently insured at over $50,000 (though not actually worth quite that much) and Star Wars games are the pinnacle of entertainment for me. I currently play Star Wars Galaxies despite it's decrepit state and incompetent development team. Republic Commando has earned it's place as my favorite FPS game, with KotOR 1 and 2 taking position as my favorite RPG's. Obviously Empire At War would be my favorite RTS game.
I've used Linux exclusively until recently when it was discovered I needed Windows to do some work for my wife on a program her computer couldn't handle and just wouldn't work on Linux.

Fear no one. Be wary of everyone. - Tex
These are game that I have done 3rd party work on. Mapping, Skinning, Model Design, Physics Tinkering, etc...
Websites all gamers should know by heart.
These are my favorites at the moment.
Hands down, these are the games everyone in the world should own and play regularly. This is my top games list.
Still and always, the best FPS+Z game ever.
If you've played it, you know why. If you haven't... BUY THIS GAME NOW!
As far as I'm concerned, this is the first game that introduced depth, storyline, and a feel of adventure.
Come on, what could possibly be better than watching Mario beat Luigi *or vice versa* to death?
Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario Brothers 2, Super Mario Brothers 3, and the Lost Levels all rolled into one? OWN THIS!
Samus... :-)
Must own for all gamers. Resident Evil offers something not many other games could. Originality and sheer horror. And that's just the script/voice acting.
In the classic Tomb Raider style, the newest addition Legend, is just plain fun. The PERFECT Tomb Raider game.
Eat your heart out Tetris, Bejeweled is even more fun and more addictive.
Cheap, fun, with a lot of different play styles. OWN THIS!
The best game to ever bear the Star Wars franchise's tag line.
Racing at speeds around mach? Good stuff.
Hands down, bar none, best space sim ever.
Squad combat for a single player game, lovable characters, and a storyline that leaves you begging for more.
Dual lightsaber wielding wookiees! YAY!
Ok I know, it's not the game it was when it came out, hell even that's not the same game it was a year ago. It changes daily, often for the worst, but this is still my favorite game to play currently. Give me another game with this much content, and the ability to be a wookiee, and I'll play it.
