| I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that Fallen Empire: Legions is in no way related to the Legions GDC 06 tech demo (this page) other than the fact that we stole the name and that it's the long-awaited fruition of GG's ambition to create an FPS. I'd advise against voting this page down in reaction the the announcment of the new game (like Living Dead Boy did), but then again I wouldn't be surprised if we later stole this game page for the new Legions and decided to tell people it was the same thing all along for whatever reason. In other words, this page may or may not have anything to do with the new game depending on who you talk to and when you talk to them. So... there you have it. I guess. | 1200580107 | |

| Definitely very similar to Cave Story. Among the things that are nearly identical: the health system and health powerups, the saving system, the enemy drops, the combat system, the art style, the locations and story progression, the weapons, the physics, etc. That said, it's executed well. I realize that I've only played a preview, but I really loved Cave Story and it was by no means revolutionary (meaning that it tapped into some of the most fun aspects of many games in the genre). This might be uncomfortably similar for some fans, but if it's done well I'll definitely play it. I have to say, though, that the gameplay didn't seem any more fast-paced than Cave Story, as the description claims. It seems as though the author of that statement might not have played the game through to the final bosses (there is an easy ending half-way through the game). Either way, I enjoyed the little that's available and I would love to play more. Keep up the good work! | 1173584943 |
