These are my list of the best mech games I have ever played.
This does split up between sim, action and strategy.
By far still the best Mechwarrior series game ever released IMHO.
What can you say massive mecha battles, just never took off for several reasons.
First Armor Core I have played so this may get revised, but very nice job of customization. I look forward to playing the others in the series.
Robotech is what got me into the large mech phase of my life, and though i have played alot of the Japanesse Robotech games, this game for the xbox really was the first decent robotech game I played for the console.
Battletech was my favorite tabletop game for many years, bringing Mechcommander to life was great.
The first time I played this game I honestly hated it, but after learning the controls I grew to really enjoy this action based mech game. It was far off from being a sim, but I think if you enjoy the game for what it was designed for you will find it very enjoyable.
I loved this game, still have it and have it installed. I think is still sets the standard for mech based strategy game ever made.
A bit of a shameless plug, but in reality we took what we loved about Mechs and made it accessible to those who enjoy first person shooters. There is nothing like being in a large MAV battle with tracers flying through the air. What really makes this game enjoyable to the diehard community which is inspiring us to a possible sequel.
This is my list of space sims, both flight and strategy that inspire me.
To me this is the best space sim that has been made to date all around. Great flight physics, great story, and good Multiplayer. This is the type of game at the heart should be inspired to if you are making a space sim.
Another game when i first played it I was disappointed, but after getting past learning the flight controls I found it to be a excellent gaming experience. The sandbox nature of the game really makes this one shine, and I have to say this is the space sim that I still play.
This game is the best multiplayer space sim I have ever played. Unfortunately it enjoys more popularity now then it did when it was released. Dubbed "The best game no one ever played" I have to agree.
Star Wars space combat!!!!!
I really enjoyed the Wing commander games, and to pick a couple that really inspire me is hard, but Privateer was probably my favorite of the whole Wing Commander series.
Come on it has Mark hamill. STAR WARS!!!
Some duplicates from my other list, but this is my top ten favorite game of all time.
Still the best mech sim overall of all time. Didn't have the graphic appeal of more recent game but from gameplay to Mech selection mechwarrior 2 and MW2 mercenaries where excellent.
The most loved and best space combat sim that still makes me want to design a space sim.
I have never really been scared or startled by a game until I played F.E.A.R. The enviroments, use of lighting, the awsome A.I. put this game into my top 10 favorites.
Nothing more fun then breaking out of someones chest then going around eating people :)
My first real passion for a MMO, I have sense moved on but really really had years of enjoyment from this game.
Tom Clancy at his best, this whole series has given me hundreds of hours of enjoyment. With that said Rainbow Six is still the best of the series, though RS: Las Vegas may someday topple it from my top ten.
I love sand box type games, and for a good fantasy RPG, Daggerfall was ahead of its time. Another game I still have, and occasionally play just to get back to my gaming roots.
Sandbox, sandbox, yes I love open games :) and for a space sim this really fits the bill.
No really good explanation here except I really just love this game!!!
The last good battlefield game, extremely moddable, and extremely fun.
