Some of these may be design failures, some still stand as my favorite games of all time, but they all hold meaning. The list is in the order I played each game as best I can reme...
My mom would bring home IIe's from school and let us play Number Munchers. I think this game is the reason my brother is a CPA.
This game is still fun and challenging even with the internal sound BGM.
An old first person role playing game that consumed my brother and I for a summer.
Still really fun and in depth. We don't make games like this anymore, and we should.
The bionic-arm-swing-move remains the coolest platformer mechanic ever. And nobody uses it now!
I played KQIII as well, but this one stands out for its classic setting and story.
Even my Mom was addicted to Myst. It's a cliche favorite game, but it still influences me to this day. Many people don't remember how scary this game was, with no beings in the entire game, except when you were trapped for eternity inside a book, the slightest hallucination/movement made me jump. This might have been the reason I needed my Mom to play it with me. =D
Kain, Cecil, Rydia, Rosa & Edge. They're why the series lasted for 6 more games.
The best Zelda, hands down.
Fun and weird, I recommend purchasing on Virtual Console.
Classic turn based strategy with some of the most addictive BGM ever.
Alucard is Dracula spelled backwards. Whoa.
This game is responsible for sparking my interests in web design (made gaudy and useless three fan-sites). Still looking for the secret way to revive Aeris...
Amazing gameplay, character customization, and came through in a pinch when I had my wisdom teeth out.
The best PC game ever made.
