I'm a passionate gamer and technophile with a penchant for wargames and simulators. Battlefield 2 was a huge part of my online gaming life for a little over a year, and I have several World of Warcraft characters that I absolutely adore. I have modded Morrowind for several years and am rather fond of the Elder Scrolls Construction Set and Plugin tools. I also had a lot of fun using Crytek's CryEngine Sandbox editor, and from this experience I discovered a love and talent for landscape design or "world building".

From a design point of view I prefer cel shaded levels and cartoon-like textures (think WoW, Beyond Good & Evil or Evil Genius). In terms of gameplay I really like fun, action packed games whose primary market is young children. I do like Military games, but I would love to create a game that plays like BF2 or Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, but with the textures of Beyond Good & Evil.

It's a dream of mine to make an Multiplayer game set in a fantasy world, but sticking to my favourite game type - CTF (Capture the Flag) or even Team King of the Hill. UT2004 would have been awesome if it were a fantasy game with dragons etc.. Instead of sci-fi.

I'm hoping to meet some likeminded artists and programmers/scripters using the Torque Game Engine to make some of these design elements a playable and enjoyable game made for people who love gaming.

I'm also looking forward to seeing what other people have done or are working on, or what they would like to make. This is gonna be so cool!

I'm currently looking to become involved in any interesting/promising indi game in any capacity. I and Photoshop are one - texturing is fun, so that's doable. My speciality though, is landscape design and to a lesser extent I can build interiors. With Ints I will need the design to work from, but when it comes to landscapes I only really need the general layout etc.. Anyone wanting to see some samples should pm me here, and I'll send whatever is required. That way I can make something specific, rather that a generic example.

As for my own game - it's so very slow trying to put something together on one's own. I'm steadily creating the art assets I'll need for when I can find some willing programmers and modellers. What I'd like is to make a basic example/demo and fill it out later... the demo will serve for generating interest and awareness. Once I have something basic running I'll post something here for you guys to see.

I'm using the Torque Game Engine v1.5 and I'm getting a little frustrated with some of the little bugs and such. That's not to say that TGE isn't good, it is very good for what it costs, but there is much work that needs to be done before I could call it a AAA title-maker.

I'm also working with some friends and associates to get some game music happening, which is a lot of fun - and I'll be getting some voice actors on-board later to fill the game with personality. A must-have in my opinion.

So what IS this game I'm working on? You'll just have to be patient for now. I can tell you that it won't be a unique gaming experience, and that it will be free... I'm not sure if I want to port it to Linux or Mac yet though. We'll see AFTER I've found some coding guru to help with the project. So there ya have it - Happy Gaming!
