Tim Aste

I have been a professional graphic designer for nine years, and have spent the last five years alternating in the roles of game artist, producer and part-time guerrilla marketeer. I am currently employed at PushButton Labs where I work on "next-generation" Flash Games and Social Games.

Previous work includes titles on the Xbox 360 & PC that span from AAA to Casual. I have been responsible for art production(2D/3D), 3rd party developer relations, project management, business development, and web development.

I've contributed to ~99 products: 27 Games, 5 engines, 3 books, 15 tools, 49 content packs. I've worked on innumerable websites.

So uh, interesting little leak of Legions or whatnot... I'd assume you did something that was in the video. I was impressed to say the least.

Man, I just can't wait to see the next game come out in the vein of Tribes, whether it's Legions or Ascension. It's just hard to imagine FPS+Z dying.

hey tim, I'm a fan of some of your work and have a question about one of the content packs you released awhile back. it had a bunch of really nicely detailed buildings with nice shapes and curves and everything. the time i spent with torque was quite frustrating and i couldn't seem to get quark/torque to do anything with curves or complex shapes. the geometry would often fracture after compiling as well. Did you use quark to make those? are they modeled dds's? mapped? whats the deal man? :)

Hi Tim, I've noted this elsewhere, but the search functions are kind of quirky. You guys have been pretty sharp at fixing and improving the site, but since I don't know for sure what's being addressed, I'll say it again. I won't try and list more details about that here, as perhaps it's already being tweaked.

Also, in a related suggestion, I'd love to see a text only listing of game links somewhere on the site.

I've noticed some issues while using Safari, my default web browser (I have a mac).
For some reason, Safari won't let me edit certain parts of my profile.
To make a long story short, after quite a bit of fiddling around, I finally switched over to Firefox and I haven't had ANY problems...

If you would like specific details, I can provide them, but I thought I would give you a quick "heads up."

Thanks Jim. I should make clear though that I realize quotas are per/profile in theory, but I assure you that I am currently unable to upload even a single image for a new game profile without getting the dreaded "over quota..try deleting something..." :)

Images are counter per game, each game you submit gets it's own gallery... Along with each group.

- I think it would be nice if some GGE tags were available in the image captions, such as center, underline, style, etc... It would be nice to be able to center align the captions so they fit under the images better.

I certainly realize the need for upload limits, but I'm confused about the implementation. Should they really be counted per my account and not per game?

I'm not submitting my own games, only trying to contribute quality artwork such as box art and basic screenshots as you've requested, yet now I'm getting "Uploading this image will put your account over your allotted quota. Please delete an image to make space." :(

It would also be nice to be able to include pictures at thier original size, as long as they aren't over a certain size... I have a picture I want to include that is bigger then medium, smaller then large, and not square.. So I can't include text along side it as easy, or there is alot of whitespace

I think the image quota may be a little low, but that's only because you can't link to images in your profile from external sources...

And the list of "games I play" on the right side of a profile seems to autofill, with games ive looked at maybe, but not just games I clicked that I played.
